Locators in locations with no zones no longer marked as drive-off

  • Locations without zones will avoid this drive-off workflow entirely

Update tag ring logic to queue for gateways under a company, not just location

  • We have updated our ring command logic to allow commands to be sent through any gateway associated with the key/tag’s company, not just location

🐛 Fixed

  • “Remember this device” option not working as expected w/ 2-Step Authentication
  • Add retries to removing “Lost” from locator - This was causing the mark as found / lost button to misbehave
  • Offsite vehicles reporting “on-site” with “No Zone” listed under zone - Now marking as Far From Site if a locator is at a location with no zones

🚀 New Features

🚗 Automated Offsite Unpaired Locator Reconciliation

Issue: Previously, we had a highly manual and infrequent solution for tracking and billing Unpaired Lost Locators. This presented challenges both in surges in billing as well as trouble tracking down these lost locators in a timely manner.

Solution: We implemented a weekly position request for unpaired locators. Based on the result of that position request, locators unpaired locators are now automatically marked as LOST (or FOUND, when appropriate). We also increased dealer visibility for this information (details below)

    • Weekly Position Updates from Unpaired Locators
      • We now issue a weekly position request for Locators that are Unpaired
      • For the purposes of marking as Lost/Found only positions reported with an accuracy better than 200m will be used.
    • Automatically Mark Offsite Unpaired Locators as LOST
      • Now that we are issuing a weekly position request for unpaired locators, we added a mechanism to automatically mark these devices as LOST when they report offsite.
      • After the first off-site position is reported the locator will be flagged as “Suspected Off-Site”
      • After the second off-site position is reported the locator will be marked as Lost and a Lost Record will be created and billed accordingly.
      • Locators that are on-site at a sister location within the same company are NOT marked as Lost
    • Automatically Mark Onsite Lost Locators as Found
      • We also now mark these locators as FOUND when they report back Onsite. If a Unpaired Locator previously marked as LOST reports back Onsite (with an accurate position), it is marked FOUND (with status ‘Available’)

🗺️ Your Zones Are Back on the Map

Zones had stopped drawing in Map View, which left you with no way to see at a glance where anything actually sat on your lot. They show up again for Vehicles, Keys, Tags, and Locators.

⚡ Position History That Loads Quickly and Stays Up

Looking back at where a vehicle has been should be fast, and on an iPhone it should not take the app down with it. Both are better in this patch.

  • History covering less than a month now takes the quick route rather than the one built for long-range lookups, so recent history comes back faster

🐛 Fixed

  • The date and time range filter shows again on the vehicle map, so you can narrow history down to the window you care about
  • On Android, the Mute and Unmute button is no longer hidden behind your phone's navigation bar while a tag is ringing — the app now leaves room for it

🔔 Ring a Tag or Key From Your Phone

Tracking down a misplaced key used to mean walking the lot and hoping to hear it. Tap Find Tag or Find Key on an asset and a new screen rings it straight from your phone, with a map showing where you are standing and where the tag was last seen.

  • The screen moves through Press Play, Connecting, and Ringing, so you always know whether it has reached the tag yet
  • Pause stops the sound whenever you want, and Mute silences it while the lights keep flashing, so you can keep hunting quietly in a showroom

💬 Get Help Without Leaving the App

A new RecovR tab sits in the bottom navigation bar. It is a direct line to the support team and to the help articles, so a question about a locator no longer means switching to email and describing your setup from scratch.

  • Message support and see your whole conversation history in one place
  • Push notifications tell you when support replies, and tapping one drops you back into the conversation
  • Search the help articles and tutorials without leaving the app

🔑 Clearer Errors When a Tag Will Not Pair

Pairing used to fail without telling you why. The app now gives the same reasons the web interface does, so you know whether to grab a different tag or just wait.

  • Low Battery appears for any tag under 50 percent, so you find out before the tag goes in the car
  • Tag Not in Range appears when a tag has not checked in for more than ten minutes

🐛 Fixed

  • On Android, tapping the hotline number now opens your dialer instead of doing nothing

🗺️ Look Back Further Than Yesterday in Position History

Checking where your vehicle has been over the past month used to come up empty. If you asked for a longer stretch of history, the app would tell you there was no data at all for the last 30 days — even when there was plenty. That range now loads the way you expect

🔔 Movement Alerts Turn On When You Ask Them To

If you have ever tried to turn on alerts for your vehicle and been told the locator was already locked when you had not locked anything, that is fixed.

🎨 A New App Icon

RecovR has a new icon on your home screen — cleaner and flatter, without the old gradient. Nothing about how you use the app has changed; it is just easier to spot.

🐛 Fixed

  • In-app surveys can be closed again on Pixel A series phones, so a survey no longer stays stuck on your screen
  • Stopping the ring with the button on your tag now updates the app, so the screen goes back to Play instead of looking like the tag is still ringing
